Isolation
“Here, in no particular order, is a selection of artists that are on Kali Uchis’ stacked debut album, ‘Isolation’. Damon Albarn of Blur fame, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Odd Future rapper Tyler, The Creator, rising British R&B star Jorja Smith, and LA’s funk king Thundercat. But in amidst all of those stars, you’ll come away remembering just one name: Kali Uchis. For the uninitiated: Uchis was bor”
ORQUÍDEAS
“Uchis dazzles on her sanguine fourth album, a genre-hopping Spanish-language LP that is a celestial joyride from beginning to end.”
Isolation
“The debut album from the Colombian-American singer is a world of her own. Her wide range pulls in sounds from reggaetón, funk, and R&B and positions her to become a new gravitational force in pop.”
Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞
“**💭 Thoughts:** Kali Uchis’ second album, * Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞*, further solidifies the Colombian-American singer as one of contemporary R&B’s finest. Compared to her debut, this record has Kali taking a significantly more dreamy and atmospheric route—especially within the first half of the album. However, the time she spent building atmosphere in the first half gets partially left behind within the second half, where she shifts into a more prominent Latin pop sound—a choice I find questionable but respectable. While each track is great on their own, I find the cohesion within this album to be slightly affected by the sudden change. Nonetheless, this is still a wonderful album, and these issues barely matter when it comes down to rating the quality of the album as a whole. **🎶 Tracklist Review** 1. la luna enormada 🔵🥉 2. fue mejor (feat. Isolation
“**💭 Thoughts:** Kali Uchis’ debut album *Isolation* is a more polished, genre-diverse, and fully realized project compared to her previous mixtape, *Por Vida*. Where *Por Vida* was lacking, the Colombian-American singer was able to improve, and expand. A highlight of this record is definitely the seamless integration of such a wide range of genres. Whether it be a latin pop track like “Nuestro Planeta,” or a dreamy track like “After the Storm,” this record doesn’t appear to have any major flaws. **🎶 Tracklist Review** 1.) ORQUÍDEAS PARTE 2
“**💭 Thoughts:** *ORQUÍDEAS PARTE 2* is Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis’ deluxe version of her fourth studio album. All that I said about the original still holds up here mostly, with the only difference being that I don’t find that the 4 additional tracks add much value to the track list. This is an album that did not need a deluxe. **🎶 Tracklist Review** 1.) ¿Cómo Así? 🔵 2.) Me Pongo Loca 🔵 3.) Igual Que Un Ángel 🔵🥇 4.) Pensamientos Intrusivos 🔵🥉 5.) Diosa 🔵 6.) Te Mata 🔵🥈 7.)
