“Uchis dazzles on her sanguine fourth album, a genre-hopping Spanish-language LP that is a celestial joyride from beginning to end.”
“With a lavish new album, the Colombian American singer serves up lush ballads about protecting your peace and sizzling reggaeton to disturb it.”
“Kali Uchis dives further into the divine on the genre-bending Orquídeas”
“Kali Uchis’s last outing, 2023’s dreamy, romantic Red Moon in Venus, earned the supple-voiced Colombian-American bouquets of praise. Orquídeas – her Spanish-language follow-up – was recorded alongside Red Moon and feels very much like the yang to Red Moon’s immersive yin. Upbeat, party-flavoured and featuring a hot, pan-Latin-American slew of collaborators, from fellow Colombian singer Karol G (V”
“After going global from embracing her Latina roots in her music, Kali Uchis is fully exploring that world once again in her new album ‘Orquídeas’. The 29-year-old Colombian-American star strikes a perfect balance between the R&B music that put her on the map and Latin influences that span reggaeton, dembow, and merengue rhythms; Uchis seamlessly switches between singing in English and Spanish acro”
“The silky-voiced singer finds new inspiration on her second Spanish-language album”
“**💭 Thoughts:** *ORQUÍDEAS* is Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis’ fourth studio album, a project that features the artist at her most atmospheric, dreamy, and sensual yet. Kali blends many different genres on this record—Latin pop, reggaeton, R&B, bolero, salsa—producing one of her most ambitious projects in terms of incorporating Latin music. This is an exceptional record, and I’d personally argue it’s her best. **🎶 Tracklist Review** 1.) ¿Cómo Así? 🔵 2.) Me Pongo Loca 🔵 3.) Igual Que Un Ángel 🔵🥇 4.) Pensamientos Intrusivos 🔵🥉 5.) “Orquídeas is a lush, romantic album that fully leans into Kali Uchis’ Spanish-language pop world, and for the most part, it’s a beautiful place to sit in. The production is silky and warm, pulling from reggaetón, bolero, and Latin pop influences while keeping that dreamy Kali sheen intact. Her voice remains the star—soft, seductive, and emotionally precise, floating effortlessly over the beats. That said, the album can feel a bit too comfortable at times. While the mood is consistently strong, some tracks blend together, making the middle stretch less memorable than it should be. When Orquídeas hits, it really hits, offering moments of passion, vulnerability, and quiet confidence, but it doesn’t always push itself far enough to fully bloom. Still, it’s an elegant and enjoyable listen, especially for fans who appreciate vibe-driven albums with understated emotional depth.”
