To be honest frank ocean is just overrated as hell I wouldn’t say that it’s like bad music but it also definitely isn’t as good as like 80% of the people say

Rating old albums is so difficult. Should I base myself in current standards? Should I investigate how the genre sounded back then when other musicians made it? I try to be objective about stuff, as much as I can. This album is not for me, but there’s a lot to be appreciated about it. I just felt it was like “hey look! We can experiment”, but it ends up feeling like it’s purposeless.

i mean it’s alright i see why people like it, the instrumentals are great and i like the sound. it’s just boring and none of the songs are really memorable. all the tracks are literally so close to hooking me but never do so it’s hard to follow along with
