“Kanye’s big year culminates in an LP that feels like an instant greatest hits, the ultimate realization of his strongest talents and divisive public persona.”
“There is no question that Yeezy's fifth outing is a bonafide game changer”
“Kanye West: douchebag, enemy of the state, incurable gobshite who’s annoyed more American presidents than Fidel Castro. A man with a head so unfeasibly smooth, it looks like he’s slowly evolving into a Madame Tussauds effigy of himself. For better or worse, he’s also the pop star for our morally implicated times; an instinctive consumer with a mouthful of diamonds and furtive bad conscience, a pe”
“Kanye's fifth studio album is easily his most ambitious effort yet. The production is extremely stunning. To be honest, this album sounds like a really huge undertaking with all of it's extra instrumentation, studio tricks, and samples.”
“One of my absolute favorites, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is Kanye West’s best work of genius. Released in 2010, after one of the most public backlashes in pop culture, the album feels like both an apology and a coronation. Kanye paints a theatrical portrait of himself that leans fully into his ego, insecurity, lust, and shame. He positions himself as a villain and victim, a genius and a disaster. The title says it all; it’s beautiful, dark, twisted, and undeniably his fantasy. At its core, the album explores the fracturing and self-destruction of his fame. The album displays monumental orchestras and production. Soul samples are layered precisely and drums hit with heavy cinematic weight. The album is very maximal, yet it remains cohesive and perfectly dramatic. Overall, a flawless record from one of the most enigmatic artist of our generation.”
“This album is so good it makes me want to cry. I am such a fan of this production… Words can't even describe the different waves of emotion that come over me while listening to all of the different courses and messages that each song brings. It comes to no one’s surprise, but my favorite tracks were Devil in a New Dress, Power, So Appalled, and Runaway: with the more experiences in life you have gone through, the more appreciation you can have for some of these songs in the album. But overall if you take it all at face value and if you just listen to the music for what it is rather than what the speaker is trying to convey, it would still be an awesome album. I love Kanye.”
“Top 2 Kanye for me personally and the this album would’ve been a perfect 10 if the end to the album was as strong as the rest of the album. Again, an absolutely incredible album from Kanye and his production shines big time on it. The start studded feature list ofJAY-Z, Pusha T, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi & Rihanna all do their jobs perfectly as well and really make the album what it is. Just another piece of genius from Kanye West. Top songs from the album are ‘POWER’ ‘All Of The Lights’ ‘Monster’ ft JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj & Rick Ross ‘Devil In A New Dress’ ft Rick Ross ‘Runaway’ ft Pusha T ‘Gorgeous’ ft Kid Cudi & Raekwon ‘Dark Fantasy’”
“Perfect. Perfect production, meaning, some of the most beautiful songs in history exist upon this album (Devil in A New Dress, Runaway, Dark Fantasy). Beautiful meaning and amazing production, Kanye’s best and the best hip hop album of all time in my opinion.”
“Somehow forgot to put up my review for this album after listening. The end of Who Will Survive In America (clapping) is pretty fitting to how good this album really is. Hit after hit after hit. Has a couple parts that felt unnecessary, but overall so good.”
“kanye’s discography is incredible but mbdtf is a generational masterpiece. songs like monster , runaway and devil in a new dress will always be brought up when talking about kanye’s best songs. very versatile and enjoyable album , alot of replay value .”
“Good bounce back album. The songs that are good on here really carry the whole album in my opinion (Runaway, Devil in a New Dress, Dark Fantasy). There was a couple skips in this for me but nevertheless this was an alright album.”
“this deserves a 10. Its hits are as good as graduation with no "drunk and hot girls" in it but i just feel like it doesnt fit 10, though i agree that this is his best work.”
