“Rocky’s back. After nearly a decade he’s been releasing yearly singles that were more misses than hits. Following his last release (his worst album), Don’t be dumb wasn’t looking promising. Which is why I was pleasantly surprised. This isn’t an album for someone looking for a lyrical miracle. It’s Rocky doing what he does best. Trap bangers with a psychedelic aesthetic. It’s catchy hooks and bragging about having kids with Rihanna. The subject matter might be an eye roll for some, but with Rocky’s flow, it’s hard not to nod along. This is why I feel like he’s my generations Snoop Dogg. His beat selection is fresh while also sounding familiar. There’s only two songs that don’t fit. STFU is him trying to be edgy (Playboi Carti) but it doesn’t go over well at all. Robbery’s a cool lounge jazz song that’s really creative. I just don’t think it’s cohesive with the rest of album. Fun bangers. Throw it on and don’t think too hard about the lyrics. Rocky’s one of my favourite childhood rappers. I was glad to hear he’s still got it.”

The project has a free-flowing concept that manages to change every track, with the very timeline-like tracklisting following that. The album feels settled, rigid, fixed sonically, but gets a bit tedious sometimes, every few tracks sounds the same without much variety. The album also feels kind of forgettable, with a lot of decent tracks but nothing that truly sticks out. The features however feel like they were made for the tracks, they feel intergrated and compounded with the tracks. Overall the project is decent, but for an 7-8 year wait, that's ridiculous. “Long awaited release of A$AP Rocky’s newest album ‘Don’t Be Dumb’ hit the mark in some areas but disappointed in some others. It has some great songs on it and other songs that don’t hit at all. It’s expected with Rocky that some songs are going to be more experimental and you’ll like it or you’ll not. Overall it’s a fun project and mostly quite easy to listen to. “Don’t Be Dumb as a comeback project for A$AP Rocky is a very good one. Rocky experiments a lot with different genres(some well done others not as much)the elements he does nail are brilliant. Rocky has witty and hard hitting verses throughout the track list and most of the features pull a good amount of weight to keep up with the album. FAVOURITE TRACKS: STAY HERE 4 LIFE, STOLE YA FLOW, NO TRESPASSING, STOP SNITCHING, ROBBERY, DONT BE DUMB/TRIP BABY LEAST FAVOURITE TRACK: THE END”
“Good album, I’m not the biggest ASAP Rocky fan but I still appreciate his music. I liked 10/18 of his tracks which is I little low for me but definitely was still worth the listen. Much like his freind Tyler, he explores the outside of the box when writing a song, creating abstract lyrics and catchy melodies. My personal favorite from this album has to be “ROBBERY ft. Doechii” with a more jazz themed take.”
“A really good album. Some really strong stand out songs which feel like prime rocky is back. Really nice flows from rocky throughout the album. However some songs dont feel necessary or miss something or feel a bit dull which lowers the score and also disappoints by the westside gunn adlibs 😔. However, it is a solid album and a very enjoyable listen.”
“Totally underwhelming but still good. It sucks when an artist releases the best song of the album before the rest of the thing comes out (punk rocky). Still appreciate the crestivity and risks, but i really wouldn’t ever revisit a track besides punk rocky ig 🤷♂️”
