Dark R&B Done Right — This song is a good example of what makes early PARTYNEXTDOOR good. The heavy bass, eerie production, and smooth melodies make up a dark, almost unsettling atmosphere that gives the song its own identity. PARTY’s vocal delivery fits the beat perfectly, and the saxophone outro is a nice touch to me personally. The lyrics aren’t deep at all, and the hook shifting pitch isn’t always as enjoyable as his natural vocals to me. Some of the repetition also gets a tiring tbh. But still, the production and vocals work together so well that those weaknesses don’t hurt the song too much. It’s not one of PARTY’s absolute best songs, but it’s a really good song that captures his early sound. 8.8/10

Welcome to PARTYNEXTDOOR — This opener is an incredible intro to PARTYNEXTDOOR and his sound. The production is easily the highlight, with its dreamy, hypnotic atmosphere and energetic drums. PARTY’s relaxed vocals fit perfectly, giving the song a confident but a little mysterious feeling. What I like most is how the music shows the excitement of partying while hinting that there might be something deeper going on emotionally. The lyrics aren’t really complicated, and the song doesn’t have much musical variety, but everything works together really well. At just under two minutes, it manages to establish PARTY’s identity, give me a memorable experience, and leave me wanting more from it. An excellent opening song that proves a song doesn’t have to be complicated to be great. 9/10
