Get the appDark R&B Done Right
This song is a good example of what makes early PARTYNEXTDOOR good. The heavy bass, eerie production, and smooth melodies make up a dark, almost unsettling atmosphere that gives the song its own identity. PARTY’s vocal delivery fits the beat perfectly, and the saxophone outro is a nice touch to me personally.
The lyrics aren’t deep at all, and the hook shifting pitch isn’t always as enjoyable as his natural vocals to me. Some of the repetition also gets a tiring tbh. But still, the production and vocals work together so well that those weaknesses don’t hurt the song too much.
It’s not one of PARTY’s absolute best songs, but it’s a really good song that captures his early sound.
