quite literally MIDnights — it has a couple of good songs and a cohesive, dreamy sound that clearly matches the vibe it’s aiming for. everything sounds “right” on paper, but the production plays it so safe that it becomes painfully boring and uninspiring, like it’s holding back from pushing its sonic ideas further; and while it works as a project, the repetition and lack of standout moments make it fall flat against expectations.
