Heaven Surrounds You
“Surf Curse's Heaven Surrounds You is an elegant coming-of-age LP”
Heaven Surrounds You
“The beachy post-punk duo are at their most confident on their third album, with a sense of anguish that brings emotional depth to otherwise plain lyrics.”

“At first I was going to rate this lower and say it should’ve just been an EP, but the last two songs really changed my mind. I think this album has the problem of all the songs being good but not enough of them standing out. As much as I’m grateful for a couple of Surf Curse’s songs for getting me into indie rock, I just didn’t get the nuance and interest from the album that the last two songs held. I enjoyed it, I get that it’s their first album so they were probably just going with a sound formula they saw worked out, but the album itself didn’t really stand the test of time as much as a couple of their songs individually did.”
Buds
“It’s okay, it has the sound of a generic garage pop indie rock album just without the character, the vocals tend to drag the song out longer than needed, and when there isn’t dragging vocals the instrumentals tend to drag. It’s fine I guess”

“Donut and flicktac got the same idea as me with this score. Its just the same song again and again honestly, like the beabadoobee of this genre.”
