“**💭 Thoughts:** Deftones’ 1997 sophomore album *Around the Fur* is arguably one of nu metal/alternative metal’s most important albums. There are so many great aspects of this album—whether it be Chino Moreno’s vocals or the well-crafted guitar riffs—and I think Deftones’ fans need to stop denying it’s one of, if not, their best, just because it’s their most popular. This album built on their debut *Adrenaline* in the best way possible, and also opened the gateway to their other amazing albums. **🎶 Tracklist Review** 1.) My Own Summer (Shove It) 🔵🥈 2.) “**💭 Thoughts:** Once again, Deftones’ is changing it up on their 2006 studio album *Saturday Night Wrist*. This album shares many similarities with its self-titled predecessor, yet takes a distinctly different approach. While the previous album was dark and gloomy, this one leans much more into an atmospheric sound with much heavier shoegaze influences. “**💭 Thoughts:** Deftones’ fourth studio album, self-titled, takes a darker turn, becoming the darkest in their entire discography while still utilizing the new sound they developed throughout their highly acclaimed third-album, *White Pony*. I love this album, and it’s easily in my top 5 from Deftones, however the only reason it’s not my favorite is because *White Pony* and *Around the Fur* have more memorability in their entirety. **🎶 Tracklist Review** 1.)
