Charli has always been ahead of the curve, but with Brat, she’s not just setting trends—she’s burning the rulebook and dancing in the ashes. The production is insane—abrasive in the best way, glitchy, bold, futuristic, and totally unbothered. Songs like “Von Dutch” and “B2b” hit like a brick wall in the club, and I mean that as the highest compliment. But then she turns around and gives us vulnerable bangers like “Everything is Romantic” and “I Think About It Every Night,” where you feel her heart and her edge. The lyrics are peak Charli: messy, emotional, bratty, self-aware, and deeply real. She’s giving main pop girl energy while also critiquing the idea of being a “main pop girl.” It’s like you’re hearing her brain in real time, glittered in auto-tune and wrapped in rave beats. What makes Brat so special is how it balances contradiction—glamorous but gritty, vulnerable but savage, pop but anti-pop. It’s Charli completely owning her identity, her sound, her legacy. “BRAT is an album that I never at first had any intents on listening to due to it's popularity and my overall aversion to things that a popular (COUGH brat summer COUGH) but upon listening to the first 4 or so songs in this shockingly consistent album, I was hooked to the gritty, yet generally feel-good and summer-y (if you pardon the pun) vibe of this, and the rest of the album never really had moments that I felt dragged, each song feeling like it had its own personality and knows what it wants to be and where it wants to go, and that is very rare nowadays, especially in the pop industry. Top 3 Standouts: • Sympathy is a knife • Von dutch • B2b Worst Tracks (not necessarily terrible): • Talk talk • Apple I will definitely be needing a physical 12" vinyl copy of this lol”

“BRAT by Charli XCX is many people’s introduction into electropop music. Electropop is a form of hyperpop that uses distinct fuzzy and low-frequency synthesizer style. BRAT manages to create a club atmosphere that still holds dramatic weight. This a 9/10 because the beats are abrasive and euphoric, but underneath lays tension about relevance, insecurity, and identity. Tracks bounce between bratty bravado and deprecating honesty. Charli will sound invincible on one track, then admit she’s spiraling in the next. That emotional duality gives this album meaning beyond just a fun party record.”
