“**💭 Thoughts:** While The Low End Theory has incredible samples, basslines, and flows—and is undoubtedly one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever—I personally prefer *Midnight Marauders* and *Beats, Rhymes & Life*, mainly because I think the production is better and the back and forth rapping between Q-Tip and Phife Dawg. “Don’t get me wrong I underside the cultural impact this album has on music, and I know how brilliant this group is as an entirety, but I can’t get behind it. Although, “what?” Is a super catchy standout for me. I love the flow and lyricism, the bass is gloopy and groovy, it’s got a great feel to it. “Check the Rhime” and “butter” are also some tunes on this album that made it for me. But as I was saying, I wouldn’t say it’s all that, however I can appreciate that this is fairly renowned.”
