“Paste Pick: The NYC band’s apocalyptic third album is a deeply exciting, provoking, and necessary gulf of no-fuss rock music.”
“another exhilaratingly free-spirited turn from the New York cult heroes”
“Following their frontman's uniquely intimate solo record, the New York band proves equally adventurous on their fourth LP”
“The recent metamorphosis of the New York band, led by singer-songwriter Cameron Winter, has produced one of the best, strangest, and most compelling rock records of the year.”
“Geese remain brilliant and manic on Getting Killed”
“Geese get even wilder on Getting Killed.”
“Getting Killed by Geese is one of those albums that sneaks up on you but in the best, weirdest way possible. It balances chaotic energy with surprisingly thoughtful songwriting, like the musical equivalent of running from a flock of birds but realizing halfway through that the chase kinda rules. The production is sharp, playful, and intentionally unhinged at times, but it never loses its melodic core. The hooks stick, the lyrics have personality for days, and the pacing keeps you locked in from track to track. Not every experiment lands perfectly, but the charm and confidence behind the chaos more than make up for it. It’s quirky, bold, and way more cohesive than a title like Getting Killed by Geese would ever suggest. A fun, creative record that deserves its four stars.”
“Geese lose a considerable measure of zaniness and produce the uncontested album of the year. The singles signposted an incredible work of art and we were not let down. It contains approachable hits (Cobra) and awe-inspiring epics (Long Island City..). A real display of the depths of musical talent Geese bring. I have never been more excited for the release of an album. It withstood the tests of anticipation, reflection and live performance. My only criticism is that the track order is deeply stupid, LICHIC should obviously be the opener and we should close with trinidad (as they do live). Getting Killed is an instant classic and rightfully pushed Geese firmly into the public eye. Fav song : Long Island City Here I Come”
“Achei o disco mt incrível, é a parada mais diferente que ouvi em muito tempo. Gostei muito que eme alguns momentos me lembrou um vocal radioheadlizado que eu amo demais. Tudo muito criativo, me pegou real. ”
“Never understood the hype around this album, the vocalists voice is getting drowned out by the instruments in nearly every song and when I can hear him sing it’s nonsense. Has some pleasant moments though”
“it had some good moments but the lows were rough. standouts to me were half real and island of men i just couldn’t get behind the final act of the album idk”
“One of the best records of 2025. Helps me power through the rough patches”
