“**💭 Thoughts:** *The College Dropout*, Chicago rapper’s 2004 debut, is widely considered as one of hip-hop’s most influential albums of all-time, popularizing soul-heavy production and influencing a generation of more introspective rappers. I liked this record; the rapping was consistently great and the production was pretty good, but I feel its greatest strength is how it expanded the idea of what hip-hop could be. “In my opinion, Kanyes best album. I think as a whole this album is incredible and follows this theme and storyline on it so well. Some of Kanyes best rap performances come on this album too and the skits throughout the track list help rather than hinder the album alongside the perfect use of the choir verses throughout the album. While I think there’s bigger hits in his other albums like ‘Graduation’ & ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ I think this album flows more and is more consistent throughout. “Chicago Producer finally picks up the mic and produces this masterpiece all made pretty much himself in 2004. Lyrics are something you can relate to, dropping out of college, Family and religion. It reaches to a whole wide audience with easily makes it so relatable to many people. The production is done amazingly. It’s hungry along side the flow and rhyming of Ye’s scheme at the time. To prove himself. And he did. The only flaw I have with this is the skits. Too many. One or two are funny, but sometimes they’re too much, sometimes I’ll just skip or listen all the way through. It’s not a big deal. Overall whatever your music taste is. Just give this a try.”
