“The Dark Side of the Moon is what everyone has at least been slightly influenced by ever since it released. Music wouldn’t be the same without it. I purposefully avoid listening to it a bunch to keep it fresh and sacred so it never goes stale. That’s how much I respect this album. But enough of the glazing. Of course this was made by humans so there are flaws. Some tracks tend to drag on a little bit. While some can get repetitive. But I can respect the nature of the album being that way, besides they do it pretty well. This album way ahead of its time. If we meet aliens. This should be one of the albums we give to them for them to listen to. I feel like I should re-review this album while being high. It might make it a ten.”
“Your dad has a shirt with this cover. I’ve felt higher listening to this album than a gram of mushrooms. Experience drugs without feeling like a pool noodle the next day. It’s really hard to put into words. Most of the songs transcend from floating on a cloud to sounding like the stars are colliding. Between the seamless transitions and returning refrains throughout the album, it sounds like one big song. On The Run is the only outlier. For an album that came out in ‘73, this is the only outdated song. It’s just doesn’t feel natural. Beautiful background/lead vocals, excellent drumming/guitar playing, with strong chorus. These song are just monumental. I can’t believe I can listen to this whenever I want.”
“I can see why this highly rated Speak to me The great gig in the sky Time Money Could be a soundtrack if it wanted to. Long songs, similar to tame impala. Good art, like a beautiful painting, but not in my house. Creativity was through the roof using all sorts of sounds to convey the title of the song. This album clearly did numbers in the day for good reason. Just not my cup of tea. I personally enjoy creative lyricism. Harmonies, tone, and pitch are all essential to me. This album does a KILLER job at that…when it’s there. There’s not a lot of it which was a tad sad. I’m also from a different generation so that could also have something to do with it.”
