“A couple weeks ago, Sic Alps announced that they were no longer together. It was sad news that was softened with the announcement of Mike Donovan's solo album Wot (out October 15 via Drag City). "New Fieldhand Bop" opens the new album with a bit of acoustic guitar minimalism. It's actually more stripped down than most of Sic Alps-- an impressive achievement considering that album's sparse nature.
