Before The World Blows
Erykah Badu · 2026
“After LIQUID FORM and Better Than McDonald’s, The Alchemist pairs up with Erykah Badu and puts together a lead single for yet another album The Alchemists 2026 discography. This track is 6 minutes long, for an alchemist song that’s way more of runtime then his usual quick 1 minute to average 3 minute songs. The Alchemist does his usual loop. But this is interesting. Because it doesn’t have the same structure and feel to how Better Than McDonald’s, LIQUID FORM and even further albums back in his discography sound. And with the help of Erykah Badu, it tops off to be quite a recommendable track. The sample is nice and shallow, mellow and only stretches on until it loops, the bass is absolutely delicious. With it getting its own little show off spot here and there with the track Erykah Badu isn’t doing her thing. And speaking of that she raps amazingly on this. I like her raspy and quiet voice, almost calm and sounds, and in my opinion, almost like JID. And another great fit as it sits perfectly with the topic of witches. The best snippet is when she’s talking about a bunch of known magical women like Hermione and Glinda. Overall she kills it here. This all combines for a really great lead single, and a very hopeful step in the right direction for The Alchemist (I’m a bit dissatisfied with his last two projects. He hasn’t been putting out as great music as he used to.) A new great single. Try it and get ready for the album.”
“JID would sound so good on this song man”
