What I consider to be the most iconic piece in Fleetwood Mac’s discography. You can feel the relationship tension in every song; it perfectly encapsulates the ups and downs of those relationships in both lyric and composition. A genuinely timeless album, still easy to listen to and jam to in today’s day and age. I pray every person under the age of 25 find this album at least once in their musical journey. It’s such a life-changer.

A transcendental journey through the troubles of life and death, this album is very much a “blood brother” to Gorillaz’s “Plastic Beach”. The virtual band enlists collaborators, both living and dead, to bring us into a space where both celebration and mourning come together to create something beautiful. This album pointedly targets societal occurrences while functioning within the Gorillaz’ own cartoon universe. Making statements about people and situations that are encouraging the downfall of society as we know it, the band hits the mark of maintaining their position as a band unafraid to be bold and political.

An excellent collection of music that can be looked at as a concept album, or even just a collection of songs in the same universe and mindset. The Crane Wives really jam out with this one, coupled with a perfect flow of songs leading from one to another, lyrical/musical callbacks to previous tracks, and genuine emotion. The feminine rage is real and on display with this album.

In an era of “trending audios” I feel like this album tried to cater to that but it left so many glaring holes that I did not enjoy listening to this very much at all. Many of the tracks are less than 2 minutes long, and by the time I get into the song it’s already on to the next one. There are so many of these that it just leaves the entire record all over the place. Many of the songs I feel were very overproduced. Joji has a nice voice and the background drowns him out on this one. If this is his attempt at a “bad boy” record it kind of failed.
