Minutes to Midnight | 5.1/10 - Average — **💭 Thoughts:** LINKIN PARK’s 2007 record, *Minutes to Midnight*, has the nu-metal band distancing themselves from the heavier sound of their previous records and taking on a more mellow, emotional sound. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of this LINKIN PARK. I find that what made *Hybrid Theory* and *Meteora* so special was how unique and distinctive their sound was—of which goes completely out the window for a majority of this album. Requiem | 9.8/10 - Near Perfect — **💭 Thoughts:** *Requiem* is the fourteenth studio album from nu-metal pioneers Korn, released in 2022, and further proves that even over 30 years into their career, the band hasn’t lost their step—even if they are going for a “lighter” approach. It seems as if the return of guitarist Brian “Head” Welch marked the beginning of the band’s second streak of consistently great albums, starting with *The Paradigm Shift*. The Nothing | 9.3/10 - Exceptional — **💭 Thoughts:** Korn’s thirteenth studio album, *The Nothing*, is the nu-metal pioneers’ follow-up to their return-to-form record *The Serenity of Suffering*, a record I personally believe to be one of their best. This was a consistently great record from front to back for the most part, with the band continuing to utilize the sound established on the previous record. The Serenity of Suffering | 10/10 - Perfect — **💭 Thoughts:** The nu-metal titans revisit the heaviness of their earlier sound for their twelfth album, *The Serenity of Suffering*. This is a flawless record, and I believe it to be one of their best since *Issues*. It maintains elements of their newer sound while recapturing the heaviness that made earlier projects, like their self-titled album, so special. Easily one of the best in their catalogue, and I’d even argue it rivals some of their legendary earlier projects.
