North Beach, Maryland’s Jordana Nye is a bedroom folk artist with three songs on Bandcamp, all of which are whimsical and unexpected lo-fi gems. Her latest track, “Intrusive Thoughts,” unfolds as Nye jots down musings about her cat, driving aimlessly, and stargazing. “Am I crazy?” she asks. “Or am I thinking way too much?” Her delivery is breathy, waiting for an answer from above. At times, she embroiders the song with raspy vocal cracks that suggest the intimacy of a side-by-side chat.
