Dean Blunt is usually trolling. The London-based producer, rapper, singer, and erstwhile performance artist has sold nuggets of weed in toy cars and sent strangers to receive awards on his behalf. But his music sometimes works best when he’s giving the audience a straight face. The rap trio Babyfather, Blunt’s latest act, is his most pop-friendly project yet and home to some of his highest profile collaborations: In the last year, he’s worked with Arca, Micachu, and Lil Yachty.

Babyfather’s latest song, a previously unreleased track with A$AP Rocky called “Benzo Amore,” was uploaded onto Youtube yesterday without warning or explanation, and categorized under the “Travel & Events” section of the site. It presents a side of Rocky we’re not that used to: Sleepy, quiet, and melancholic, he has all the energy of Charlie Brown shuffling beneath his personal rain cloud. The production is syrupy and slow-moving, mostly a chorus of ad-libs, distended drums, and a morose synth line. Rocky and Blunt trade verses about selfies and selfishness, and their seamless meshing is a surprise: Blunt’s thick baritone pairs well with Rocky’s softer notes. Disarmingly catchy but still strange in concept—how in the world did these two meet?—“Benzo Amore” is a pop song only Blunt could write.
