Review

As someone who grew up listening to The Killers, I’ve always had a soft spot for Brandon Flowers, so hearing Thrashers feels pretty natural to me. You can still hear that same dramatic, larger-than-life songwriting that made me love The Killers in the first place, but there’s something a little more personal about this record.

I like that Brandon doesn’t try to make this sound exactly like a Killers album. There are familiar moments, but he’s clearly doing his own thing and letting the songs breathe a bit more. His voice is still instantly recognizable, and honestly, that alone gives the album a certain comfort for me.

It’s the kind of album where you can hear the artist I grew up with while also getting a different side of him. Thrashers definitely feels like another solid chapter in Brandon Flowers’ career, and as someone who’s been listening to The Killers for years, I enjoyed getting to hear where he’s at now.
