"Lathe Biosas" is the second track, and first "rocker," from Chicago/L.A. instrumental quartet Pelican's forthcoming four-song EP, Ataraxia/Taraxis, out April 10 via Southern Lord. On the EP, "Lathe" follows an incidental bit that mixes minimal electronics, Earth-style desert guitar, and chiming accents, a prelude that makes this crunchy opening liftoff feel especially dynamic.
