Don't be fooled by the name: "The Trap", the A-side to Black Acre head honcho Fantastic Mr. Fox's latest single, is a jacking slice of soulful, bass-imbued house with a vocal anchor that's not dissimilar to Ben Pearce's "What I Might Do", a remix of which appeared on this year's fine compilation Traxx: the House That Garage Built. The tune eventually folds into the kind of dry, scraping beatmath that marked Blawan's indelible 2011 single "Getting Me Down". "The Trap" b/w "Jackal Youth" drops on August 5.
