UK producer Ossie has put out some solid singles on Hyperdub and 2020 Vision; now, he's shifting focus with vocalists and friends Paul Black and Tilz as Black Orange Juice, who are releasing their debut EP, the aptly titled 3 Started Alone, on September 23 via True Panther. "Alone" is the sorta-title track, and it finds Ossie stepping away from the sprightly Funky-indebted sound that was found on tracks like "Set the Tone", moving towards something more straightforward that combines the lushness of house with R&B's romantic gestures.
