If anyone was lamenting the lack of rambunctiousness from Major Lazer's latest single, the Amber Coffman-featuring "Get Free", then consider Elliphant's debut single proper your closest substitute. Whereas "Get Free" bobs by on a very fluid, delicate dancehall echo, "Tekkno Scene" is as infectiously ugly as an ML song like "Pon De Floor", its bratty, incessant synth refrain and stuttering snare exploding like a mile-long line of potent little firecrackers with a lazy trajectory. Here, the Swedish singer/producer issues her random proclamations like a younger M.I.A., with rapper Adam Kanyama closing the deal. In spite of the title, there's no techno here, but Elliphant sound like nothing but the future.
