London producer Airhead has developed a quiet but elusive style: borderline-techno sometimes, borderline-ambient others. Like everything else he's shared from the upcoming For Years, "Milkola Bottle" matches organic sounds crumpled and distorted by processing with synthetic sounds rounded off to seem like whispers, hiccups and the stray coos of someone digesting. What really marks his music, though, is how much detail lies under the surface of a track that on casual listens seems like nothing much. At a distance, "Milkola Bottle" wafts by, but get up close and it wriggles.
