As one-half of Department of Eagles, Grizzly Bear's Daniel Rossen has excelled at infusing dark moods with jazz, soft psych, and AM radio crackle. On "Saint Nothing", the first track from Rossen's forthcoming solo EP, Silent Hour/Golden Mile, he delves deeper into his wonderfully hermetic world. Though they form the centerpiece, "Saint Nothing" is more than just piano and vocals-- wind instruments and vocals creep in halfway through, lending a truly unsettling presence to this campfire song.
