Undersung Chicago rapper/producer Tree has forged an identity as the self-proclaimed father of "Soul Trap", a production style that amalgamates old soul samples and percussive trap beats in jarring ways. On "The King", a loping, Elvis-sampling track from his album Sunday School II (out today), he lets his signature vocal gravel lead the way, channeling the wistful warmth and unmistakeable rasp of Louis Armstrong.  Download Sunday School II, out now through Creative Control/Closed Sessions, here.
