Let Me In

Release Date:  2013

To date, Denton's Bad Sports have released two solid albums of very catchy garage rock. Next month, they're releasing a new one on Dirtnap called Bras. (Learn from my mistakes-- don't go Googling "bad sports bras" unless you have the word "band" or "Dirtnap" in there somewhere.) Out the gate, "Let Me In" is another success for the band, and it's further proof that they know how to employ some of rock music's most successful tropes. They've got the "Runaway" minor chord guitar strum on the verse, the thing where they turn a one-syllable word into a three-syllable word ("no-OH-oooohhh!"), and a melody that's a total earworm. Bad Sports are pleading for you to let them into your heart, and the hook alone makes a pretty good argument on their behalf.
