The Beverleys are a trio who thrives off a brand of self-described “junk punk”. The Toronto group’s distortion-friendly sound borrows from the barefaced punk of 1970s-era Stooges while also lifting from the contemporary clan of associates in their local scene such as HSY and Fucked Up. “Bad Company,” off of The Beverleys’ latest self-titled EP, is a prime example of these amalgamated influences: a rollicking barrage of molasses-thick riffs and rambunctious drums Susan Burke stings with her throaty snarls and angry laments: "Oh, your wasted dreams are giving me bad dreams!”
