As Evan Minsker suggested in his review of Twerps' self-titled debut, there's an undercurrent of romance amidst this young Australian band's breezy sway. Their vignettes of young love take cues from the threadbare jangle of the Clean and the misty-eyed romanticism of the Go-Betweens. Album closer "Coast to Coast" is marked by wide-eyed wonder and joyous accomplishment. Drums gallop insistently, while frontman Marty Frawley declaratively shouts, "The sun's in my eye, and I've never felt so high!" You get the feeling that Twerps don't mind casting themselves too closely to the sun; their view from the sky is too gorgeous to not be stoked about it.
