Last year, Axel Willner returned with a new LP from his ambient techno project the Field, Cupid's Head, a dark and sinister effort that continued the Swedish producer's hot streak and counts as one of his best albums to date. On January 20, Kompakt will release an EP of remixes from that LP, featuring contributions from Vatican Shadow, Barker & Baumecker, and Los Angeles producer Sonns, who takes the upward build of the title track and spreads it out across an empty canvas, folding the track into something approaching traditional techno.
