British singer/songwriter Ronika emerged in 2011 with a few singles of infectious synth-pop; with "Rough n Soothe," she continues to explore this sound-- this time, with production contributed by Brooklyn-based duo Javelin. In the process, she creates an alluring work that is equal parts charming and cheeky. While the song itself sounds innocent enough, Ronika's breathy vocals match the evocativeness of her lyrics. "Come on, rough n soothe," she sings, "We don't play/ I'm never gonna get in your way," suggesting a deep and interesting intimacy between the singer and her love.
