Though MondreM.A.N.’s debut album They Say I Struggle Rap is his first without Main Attraktionz partner Squadda B, he certainly hasn’t lost his thirst for collaboration. There’s his relationship with the album’s producer Al Jieh, whose presence affects the album’s lush, high-energy sound as much as the rapper's slightly slurred flow—and you can almost hear Mondre perk up when three of his Bay Area family pop up on second single “Atta Boy.” DaVinci’s dusty baritone anchors the track while Mondre, Squadda, and Shady Blaze take turns running rampant over shimmering keys and strings, boom-bap classicism wedded to the Bay’s bounce.  Shady Blaze sounds like he came to the session feeling particularly geared up, and Squadda and Mondre's flows complement each other quite well.
