When Haim debuted “Little of Your Love” last month on “Saturday Night Live,” it was pretty much flawless. The chorus was instantly catchy and eminently singable: a sequence of nine syllables delivered in tight three-part harmony. Now—like Kanye West before them—Haim are competing with themselves to present the definitive version of their own song. And the studio rendition of “Little of Your Love” does not disappoint.

It’s as nuanced and layered as the slower-building “Want You Back,” but it aims for a more immediate rush of endorphins. The trio doubles-down on the song’s giddy energy, leaning into all the exclamatory “huh!”s and “ha!”s, which makes sense considering this is a song with as much physical momentum as a heated round of tennis. It’s produced so that every aspect sounds percussive, incorporating chopped-and-screwed vocals and handclaps, as if to purposefully overwhelm listeners to the point of just submitting to the groove. They ask for just a little of your love, and, in response, give you all of theirs.
