Hidden Fees, the duo of Brooklyn DJ (and sometime Gang Gang Dance bassist) Ivan Sunshine and guitarist Thomas Gluibizzi, released a 2011 single with Light Asylum’s Shannon Funchess before dropping out of sight. Now they return with a single for Beats in Space, “So What”, which has the slink and attitude that slots somewhere between the Rolling Stones’ “Miss You” and early 00’s disco-punk a la !!!. With Christopher Exits of Ghost Exits on sneering vocals, “So What” struts down New York City streets then veers down an alley for an extended highlife-flavored solo from Gluibizzi, the track turning into an extended guitar jam.
