Blissfucker sounds like the name of a Kevin Shields porno project, but it's actually the new record from Trap Them, out June 10 on Prosthetic. The long-running project of guitarist Brian Izzi and vocalist Ryan McKenney are originators of the Swedish-metal-meets-American-hardcore sound, and they stay true to that path on "Lungrunners", the fourth track from the collection. In addition, they've molded a new rhythm section—bassist Galen Baudhuin and drummer Brad Fickelsen—to suit their desires. Admittedly, Fickelsen has some big shoes to fill following the monstrous talent of Chris Maggio, who really made the group click. Still, that swing, those riffs, that hellbent determination, it's still all there. No dreams, only harsh realities.
