"Hacker", the brilliant, explosive closer off of California noise-rap outfit Death Grips' forthcoming second album, The Money Store, sounds like the results of XTRMNTR-era Primal Scream attempting to out-snot LCD Soundsystem's "Losing My Edge". At once expansive and immediate, the band packs a lot into the barking death-disco mutant they've created here-- sickly synth pings, sliding metallic guitar lines, layers of grimy industrial skronk-- while frontman Stefan Burnett shouts about Lady Gaga, Linens N' Things, the Apple Store, and just about whatever else he can cram into the song's four-and-a-half minutes. Don't know whether to dance or mosh? Do both.
