Comprised of members from Sacramento, Calif. punk scene veterans the Bananas, Nar, and Bright Ideas, English Singles garnered attention last year from their first two 7’’ singles on Slumberland, “Disaster” and “Backstreet Pages,” which excellently showcased their infectious, bratty mod pop. On their new EP, Ordinary Girls (out now via Slumberland), the group continues to strengthen their spiritual lineage with UK pub-punk. The title track is a pogo-worthy slice of snotty punk pop, with an earworm of a four chord harmony/clubbing percussion combo.
