Despite getting a nod for Best Newcomer at the Swedish Grammys earlier this year, Stockholm's Sibille Attar seems distinctly out of step with the fizzy electro snap of most of her countrywomen's music. Instead, she marries her atonal Scandinavian yawp to madly wide-eyed, swooning songs underpinned by a strangely baggy 90s rhythm; on the rather great "Julian! I Want to Be a Dancer!" she nabs samples of dialogue from The Red Shoes (another distinctly 90s move) for a coy two-step that negotiates a relationship suffering from an imbalance of power. The opening sample sees a girl being asked if she'd rather live or dance; on "Julian", Attar makes clear that she doesn't have to choose.
