Review

Currents is a bold shift for Tame Impala…trading fuzzy guitars for synths and smooth, psychedelic pop. The production is dreamy and immersive, and Kevin Parker’s introspective lyrics hit at times. But while it’s beautifully crafted, some tracks blur together, losing the spark that made earlier work so distinct. Still, it’s an ambitious and emotional ride worth revisiting.
