Blood Sister's "Ghost Twin" slips around on a greased guitar arpeggio coated in so much distortion that it slips free of "guitar"-ness altogether—as the song goes on, the riff swells until it's just a big, bulging shape, a Day-Glo kite floating far above the agreeably sideways song it accompanies. The off-kilter, quizzical melody brings with it flashes of Pixies, and Blood Sister's noise pop has a similar interest in the place where the cute and the frightening meet.-=-=-=-
