K-pop is thought of as a model that takes threads of Western pop music and blows them out to their gloriously rainbow-bright extremes. AME, a 17-year-old UK pop upstart, shows where that phenomenon is coming full circle. "Play the Game Boy" is not just pop music, it's snap-crackle-pop music, complete with a familiar glitchy Gameboy game sample and compulsively listenable hook.
