Like any production genius worth his salt, London's Ash Gardner has formed his own band, along with Adam Betts of Three Trapped Tigers, and Hugo Sheppard. Emperor Yes' debut single, "Wasps", sounds like a dream where the Unicorns and Yoshimi-era Flaming Lips collaborate with Summer Camp-- all sweet synth wibble, Dave Fridmann drum sounds, and "hold me close"-sentiment-- and the video's Betamax homage to 80s and 90s horror films video is well worth a watch, too.
