So Good feels like such a fun snapshot of Zara Larsson at her most confident, polished, and unapologetically pop. I actually first heard Zara through “Symphony,” and honestly, that song was played to death by my former roommate, so I had a very specific introduction to her music. 😂 But going back and listening to So Good made me realize there’s way more to Zara than the one song I associated with her. The album has that late-2010s pop sound that is incredibly catchy without feeling completely disposable. Tracks like “Lush Life,” “Never Forget You,” “Ain’t My Fault,” and “I Would Like” really show how good Zara is at delivering a massive pop hook. She has such a naturally strong voice, but she also knows when to let the production carry the song instead of overpowering it. What I appreciate most is how easy this album is to just put on and enjoy. It’s upbeat, confident, a little flirty, and very much in its pop-girl era. Some songs definitely feel more memorable than others, but the album works because Zara’s personality comes through in the best way. And yes, “Symphony” still makes me think of my former roommate immediately, but hearing Zara’s full album helped me finally separate the song from the roommate-induced overplay. 😭 So Good is genuinely a solid pop album, and I can understand why Zara became such a recognizable name during this era.
