★★★★☆ This album feels like the musical equivalent of finding an old journal and realizing you’ve grown, but also maybe still have a few things to unpack. Death Cab for Cutie has always been good at turning ordinary human experiences into something beautiful, and this album is no exception. It’s reflective, emotional, and occasionally feels like it’s gently calling me out. Not every song immediately clicked for me, but the album as a whole left me feeling strangely comforted. Like a conversation with a friend who doesn’t try to fix your problems, just sits with you in them. Sad, thoughtful, and just the right amount of emotional damage.
