Last year, former Casiotone for the Painfully Alone mastermind Owen Ashworth released one of the best indie-pop albums of 2012 with his debut LP as Advance Base, A Shut-In's Prayer. Today, he's putting out a new EP, The World Is in a Bad Fix Everywhere, a collection of covers of songs from early 20th-century street preacher Washington Phillips, whose available recorded catalog only goes as far as sixteen songs (he wrote and recorded eighteen in total). The EP features takes on four songs (five if you get a digital copy); this fairly upbeat take on "Mother's Last Word to Her Son" is the second track on the EP.
