Review
Get the appstar is a technically solid but fairly safe release that values personal context over musical risk. it flows well and holds together as a project, yet rarely commits hard enough to any idea to leave a strong impression. while fans familiar with hollis’s background may find added meaning in its subtleties, much of the album plays it safe sonically and emotionally, resulting in a work that’s coherent and sincere, but ultimately muted in impact.
