The Copenhagen four-piece Lower will release their debut full-length this fall, and it may or may not include "Another Life". The band are colleagues with Iceage, and in the middle of the song, a familiar phrase is used: "Without him, you're nothing." Those four words offer a decent taste of the song's overall tone. The opening drums are ominous, the guitars frantic, and lyrically, it's another great work in Adrian Toubro's oeuvre of dismal poetry. "Right now, I'm very inspired by clichéd imagery and motifs that have swollen pop music lyrics for decades," Toubro told Jenn Pelly last year. Lo and behold, in the middle of "Another Life", Toubro joylessly sings, "I could be your better half."
